"My love for all of music and sound is poured into every composition I craft,
excitement and passion are what transform my creative ideas into
bespoke works of artistic expression."
Musician, producer and composer Zak Foster delivers an exciting blend of organic and electronic music within his textures and soundscapes. As an expressive multi-instrumentalist with an array of talents and interests, Zak likes to work with the piano, bass, drums and virtual orchestral tools; weaving in hardware samplers and synthesisers where he can. Electronic, jazz, hiphop, classical, Funk, orchestral and ambient music are terms that reflect the essence of his musical inspirations. He often takes inspiration from his location recordings, re-contextualising sounds to give them new purpose and sonic identity.
Zak's piano compositions and interpretations are deeply inspired by Japanese music composers; Kondo, Masuda, Hisaishi, Yoshimatsu and Siguyama. Growing up playing a lot of video-games has given Zak’s sonic world a distinct colour.
His music has been played on BBC Radio Humberside and one of his orchestrations was featured by Shinesparkers for a 25th anniversary event, dedicated to the Nintendo game Metroid Prime. Having written music for podcast, worked in local studios and offered public and private tuition on the bass guitar, Zak is flexible and well experienced. He spent 3 years playing with a touring instrumental band Release Bezaken, this presented an opportunity to travel write, record and perform in many cities across Central Europe.
Zak also enjoys contributing to his community and hosts regular sound relaxation sessions at his local Community centre. These sessions often feature his musical improvisations, a selection of Himalayan singing bowls and some of his own home made instruments.
